Description:	s o ii t h a p a 1 o o z athe houseBy: Regina HarligSouthapalooza 2001 was full of memorable moments, like thefuses blowing and seniors Levi Combs and Esmail Fadae singingMood for Love with Combs dressed as Shaniqwa Joanes, toname a few. While such events may have been most noticable tothe audience, performances by all the bands and individualscombined to make a memorable night.The only returning band from last year was Cardboard, whichput pressure on the group. We felt obligated to be good,sophomore Graham Campbell said.While Cardboard had been togther for a year, most of the bandshad only been togther for about two weeks and had little rehearsaltime. Freshman Zac Catozzi quipped that Haterades totalrehearsal time was 20 hours, 12 pizzas and one ferret, referringto the rat that ate his bands food while they were rehearsing.While Haterade and other bands had little time to get ready,perhaps the group who got together in the shortest time was theFive-Minute Band. At the audition, the three members were joinedby an unexpected fourth member. The three of them werepracticing and I just started to sing the chorus, and they askedme if I wanted to sing with them, junior Adam Nahas explained.Southapalooza was a fun experience for many of the performers.Describing his favorite part of it, freshman Lee Beckwith said, Itwas fun to see how our personalities developed on stage.Southapalooza showcased a varied mix of lights, videos, humorand of course, music, unable to be summed up by a single phrase.But perhaps junior Ian Enochs, an MC, came close when, after afuse blew during Cardboards performance, he proclaimed, theyrocked too hard!Senior Levi Combs extendshis hands to the screamingcrowd after A-Teamsmembers were introduced.Gothic :: 9t~d*sc£i(Peter AugenbergsJuniors Ian Enochs and ChrisJohansen introduce Bacchus.The tuxedos the MCs worewere donated by Gingiss Tux.
