findinexcitementBy: Rachel JarrellFor decades, students have shared a common love...weekends.After working hard studying for five days, two full days off tospend time with friends is a welcomed break. Students enjoyed avariety of activities during the weekend.A lot of times we just hang out, and sometimes go out to eat orgo to parties. A lot of people go to the Union too and play pool orbowl, junior Stephanie Smith said.Weekends also meant parties, extra sleep and extendedcurfews. I go to parties with friends and stay out really, reallylate, sophomore Delyn Kazdan said. When there wasnt a party students tried to find something todo around town, and most Bloomington teens agreed that therewere few possibilities available. If I were going to make the townlively for high school students, I would have a club that wouldadmit high school students, like under the age of eighteen ortwenty one. Id add a club to Bloomington! junior Adam Watsonsaid.Despite the lack of things to do, for many, the only thing wrongwith weekends was that they were too short. When asked howlong he would make weekends, junior Josh McBrides reply wasthis, I would say three or four [days]. Two days is too short. ItsSaturday, Sunday, then school. It should be Saturday, Sunday,Monday, Tuesday. Then you would have more time to have fun.Brett WhiteSophomore Sarah Gates setsup to take a shot in a friendsbasement.
