Thebells sound loud andclear, and the shoutsof students crowdinginto the hallways fillthe air withexcitement.Spring breakbegan, the weekeveryone had beenwaiting for allwinter. Studentstook advantage of thetime for rest,relaxation andtravel.Many studentsheaded south towarmer weather andsunshine whileothers headed westto powder and greatskiing conditions.Even the studentswho stayed homeenjoyed the freedomfrom school, givingthem a chance tocatch up on sleep andjust hang out.I went to Ft.Myers with myfriend and herfamily, and it wasgreat being able torelax on the beachand having nohomework or worriesfor a week,sophomore ReneeHollinger said. It feltgood to do somethingworthwhile on myspring break; we hada lot of fun, too. Iwas there with otherstudents from Southand the wholeexperience was agood one.Even the kids whoremained nearbyfound ways to have agood time.Six friends and Iwent camping at RedRiver Gorge inKentucky for acouple of days. Weall piled into a mini-van and took offwithout evenknowing where wewere going to campor anything. We allhad a lot of fun,senior Kevin Whitesaid.
