At thismoment you wonder,Why did Iprocrastinate?Procrastination wasunfortunately a part ofeveryones life duringthe year. Many thingstake up students timesuch as friends, sports,activities, and jobs. Bythe time students getaround to theirhomework, it is almosttoo late.Junior Jay DeeBarnthouse said, I havea life outside of school.One time, I hadntstarted my six week project for WorldHistory until the day it was due. Ispent first through fifth period,skipping lunch to finish it, but I stillended up with an A!Sophomore Justin Banks said,There was a big report due forEnglish, worth 50 percent of yourgrade, on Wednesday. Everyone knewabout it for a month, but for somereason I just remembered it onTuesday, the day before it was due. Istayed up until two in the morning,and it still wasnt done. I was doing itin all my periods the next day duringschool trying to finish it. I got toEnglish and it wasnt due for anotherweek! I justwant to go to bed, so Illdo my homework the next day inother classes.Depending on the class, studentsprocrastinated to different degrees.Junior Naomi Dalglish stayed ontop of things in most of her classes. Itend to procrastinate more in theclasses where I know I can get awaywith it.Barnthouse said, Its the easyclasses I put off the most because Iknow I can get the work done and Iknow I can still get a good grade inthe class.Banks said, I think everyoneknows the classes where they canprocrastinate and where they cant.Its a great feeling, though, when youhave all your work done on time, oreven... early.Amanda Hirschprocrastination 49
