Mallor... A Step Off the Beaten PathYou may not have seen Jessie Mallor atBloomington High School South for the firstsemester of her Senior year, but I can assure youthat she was still learning. Yet, she was partakingin something most of us, in our wildest dreams, could not imagine! This senior spent the firstsemester in Israel. There she studied a lot ofJewish history along with her regular studies. Butof course studying wasn t all that Jessie could findto do while abroad.Jessie lived in Jerusalem where sheworked on a collective farm. Even though shewitnessed terrorist attacks during her stay she stillfelt safe, stating that, Its (Israel) is not asdangerous as peoplethink. It is much saferthan Miami or New York City. She also wasin the Army for a week and spent some timeclimbing mountains and camping overnight inthe Israeli Desert.Next year Jessie Mallor plans onattending college at Brandeis. She applied tothis school partly because of its 75% Jewishpopulation. It is a small school inMassachusetts with an excellent Liberal Artsprogram. There she plans to get involved intheir drama program.story by: Renne ParkerGarrett BeckerTracie BennettPaul BertermannPeter BertermanGabe BeyersDerek BlandDana BobilyaTravis BowenBrian BridgesRebecca Brinegar|photos by: Shannon Gerrishessica Maynards got legs andknows how to use them.160/ALBUM |
