Description:	I like the diversity ofthe student body here atSouth, said graduatingsenior Katie Bourne. Inthe fall, she will attendSarah Lawrence Collegein New York and concentrate on medicineand journalism. In thespring Katie was one inonly eight girls awardeda $10,000 scholarshipfrom Girls Incorporated. At South Katie wasa member of the National Honor Society,The Optimist, theFrench club and theAcademic Superbowl.Mike Fling camefrom Shamrock HighSchool in Texas at thebeginning of his sophomore year, completinghis years here at Southquite successfully. Amajor achievement forMike was becoming aNational Merit Scholar.After graduation, he willbe enrolled at the University of Toledo on afull ride scholarship.There he will be studying to become a Marine Biologist.Katheryne NeumeyerWhile at South,Katheryne Neumeyerwas on the Optimiststaff for four years, finishing as the chief editor. She was on the Junior Advisory Board, wasa member of the National Honor Societyand also became a National Merit Scholar. Inher spare time Katheryne has a job at Its ASmall World and shehas danced ballet for sixand a half years. Nextyear she will be attending Carleton College inMinnesota.ACADEMICS/133
