It was thefourth year in a row that the teamlost in the regional game. Senior Colin Hawkins was disappointed andsaid, It was another should haveseason.Overall the team had a good season. Beating Bloomington North,our cross town rival was one of thehigh points of the season, said senior Ben Londergan.The team was plagued by manyminor injuries that kept some keyplayers out of a few games. Eventhough there were injuries, as a wholethe team improved throughout theseason. Team member Aaron Stol-berg thought it was a good year forgrowth saying We improved eachgame that we played. We had a lotof good players that will most likelycontinue to play soccer after theygraduate.Zak Poindexter had this to say,This year was a great year, I likedplaying with good players. We wereall disappointed losing the regionalgame to Carmel, because I thoughtwe were a better team.The team had a great deal of talentand used it well but just came up alittle short of what they had hoped.John Lindenbaum summed up saying, We had a great season with atalented team. The regular season wasreally good even though we had adiscouraging end.Next year they will have a youngteam because of losing a lot of goodseniors. The team expects to have afew good freshmen coming on to theteam. Zak added, Next year will behard having lost the seniors, but wewill still have a lot of good playersleft and hope to gain a few morenext year.Seniors Toure McCluskey and Ryan Hawkins gang up to regain control of the ball.ATHLETICS/73 |
