Nevertheless we moved forward and accomplished a lot, said band director Mr.Dubinski.Many students in the class hadbeen playing together for a long timeso having the small class size did nothinder their performance at all. Junior Chris Hunt said The class wasvery different than wind ensemble; itwas more individualized and we eachgot to do our own thing.The jazz band participated in manydifferent festivals and concertsthroughout the year. One of thehighlights of the year was when theyhosted the Jazz Festival in Decemberwith guest star Rufus Reid. Therewere 21 different schools representedand had over 600 students participating in the festival.Junior Aaron Butcher commentedI liked the class a lot because of itssmall size. I think it is a good thingfor any musician to know how jazzworks and this class helps out a lot.Senior Vahan Papakhian addedBand was a lot of fun.
