Stone visitedOrlando, Florida, where hewon second place in the International Science Fair,and Los Angeles, California,where he competed in thenational Academic Decathlon. He participated inmany other activities atSouth and won manyawards.With a project that created a computer interfacewith the minds of crayfish.Stone won first place in theIndiana University ScienceFair, the Crane ScienceFair, and finally the International Science Fair. Hisawards included the overall riAVY award, the nASAscience award, the riAVYscience award, the over-allaward at Crane, and the Sigma Xi award for best useand integration of science.Stone was also on theSouth academic decathlonteam last year, which wonthe regional and state competitions and advanced tonationals in Los Angeles,California. There Stonecame in 22nd place out ofthe 135 students in his division, and his team placed14th out of 45.In addition. Stone was amarching band member, aBoy Scout, and a competitor in the JETS competition.Stones plans for the future were to try to top myown accomplishments. Hesaid that he would like toand repeat his accomplishments in the 1991-92school year.
