Weplayed ColumbusHorth three times andwe became more competitive each time. Wealmost had them insectionals, saidcoach Shelli Fulhart.During the season,the team beat teamsranked 19th and 11thin the state. Their finalrecord for the seasonwas fifteen to six. Thenumber one doublesteam at South, AmyBates and Beth Morgan, went on to thestate competition. Itwas really excitingmaking it to state as asophomore, saidBates.We had a terrificseason, and Amy andBeth did an incrediblejob with the doubles,said Fulhart.SPORTS / 89 |
