We had five guys under16:40. Senior Geoff Nordloh finished first on the team with a34th place finish, he stated.Sophomore Jamie LaFollette finished 66th, and Seniors DaveFink, Tony Elison, and MattStryker finished 71, 84, and 108,respectively.Fink described the state meetas, pretty darn fast. He continued, I think we all did a goodjob; the best we could do. Weshould be pleased.Earlier in the season, the Panthers achieved a 5-2 dual meetrecord. Their second place SCCfinish behind Columbus Northwas highlighted by Geoff Nor-dlohs first place finish individually. He also won the individualsectional crown, helping histeam again to finish second behind Columbus North.Williams said that he expectsnext years team to follow thetradition of getting to state.The team will be younger butwe have five letter winners returning. They all have experience in the meets in the stateseries.I want to build on each yearuntil we become a consistentpower in the state, he added.Other season high points Williams named were the teamsvictory over Bloomington Northin a dual earlier in the season,winning the Columbus Easttourney, and their second placeregional ranking and third placesemi-state finish.Williams described this yearwith the team, especially seniors, as a special one. The seniors of the team were the firstclass he coached for a full fouryears. They all were freshmenwhen Williams began coachingat South four years ago.I have enjoyed these fouryears here at South.
