It was important tosee such documents. You oftenhear and read about, We Thepeople .. . , but dont get achance to see it in this form. Ifelt it was an exciting andinteresting trip, said seniorCarmen Brown.Hunger and the urge to playovercame some studens whoflocked to the Memorial Union,Garcias, and Noble Romans. Some saw a few of the exhibits,a few the entire collection, andsome saw nothing except theUnion pool room, bowling alleyor the inside of a resturant. Itwas a very beneficial trip tothose who took it seriously, said Kevin King, social studiesteacher who helped escort thefieldtrip. You are always goingto have some people who takeadvantage of any situation. Forthose who saw the exhibit, itwas a good experience and Iwould really like to go again, hesaid.A major factor in the problemwas the size of the group, observed Bellessis. It would bebetter to take smaller groups ofstudents who really wanted tosee these rare documents, hesaid.Another senior comes face toface with the greatemancipator.
