Description: a NEW FRENCH AND SPANISHTEACHER, MS. JERRIE Mc-MILLIN, AND NEW SPANISHtextbooks were added to the foreignlanguage department in 1973-74.Language offerings includedSpanish, French, German, and Latin.Interest in Greek and Latin derivatives increased as students preparedfor SAT exams and college work.The Spanish textbooks followed anew format. By using the samefamily of characters throughout thebooks, students more easily understood each lesson.The second annual foreign language festival was held in the BHSScafeteria in early March. Skits, dances,games, and food were included inthe event.Language students also exploredthe cultures of the countries whoselanguages were studied.
