Others stumbledout of bed at a quarter til eightand, toothbrush in hand, rushedto beat the first bell.We bussed, walked, drove, skateboarded, rode . . . We allmade it to South somehow, intime for the long day of classes. After school meant homework, jobs, practice, parties, andparents reminding us about thatmessy room.Hitting the sack. Senior ColeyBryan spends his free time juggling aHackey Sack in Peoples Park.Entertaining the crowds at theOctubafest comes naturally for themembers of Sounds of South. Theycombine song and dance in theirperformance.Being a student was a lot ofstress. Everyone, fromfreshmen to lofty seniors, hadtheir own way to relax. Some ofus were involved in sports, working out our aggressions bysmashing a tennis ball acrossthe court. Browsing through themall, munching at NobleRomans, seeing a new movie, sitting in Bryan Park; thesewere all ways to relax and havefun. The ways in which Southstudents blended school andfun and work and play, intotheir lives were always a classiccombination.8 Student Lifem
