Description: tHE MUSICAL FUNNY GIRLPROVIDED THE FINAL THEATREARTS ENTERTAINMENT OF THE1972-73 season. Performed May 31-June 2, Funny Girl is the storyof Fanny Brices marriage to gamblerNick Arnstein and of her rise tostardom.The major characters were playedby Debbie Martin, David Reeve, LizMannion, and Jeff Warden. Also inthe cast were Mike Gallagher, TomAvery, and Eric Samuelsen. In addition,the musical included 20 minor speaking parts and a dancing chorus, incooperation with the BHSS orchestra.The theatre arts department openedits 1973-74 season with The Darkat the Top of the Stairs, presentedNovember 14 and 15 under the direction of Mrs. Mary Forester. The playis set in a small American town inthe 1920s and deals with the problems and prejudices of a family.The cast included Eric Samuelsen,Eva Bachmura, Tom Fox, Liz Mannion, Alice Cazee, Mike Getman, BethAxsom, and Brian Covert. RandiLoescher served as student directorof the production.TOP: The couple Morris and Lottie are portrayed by Tom Fox and Liz Mannion in Darkat the Top of the Stairs.
