Description: Girls reservers have good season, 9-4The girls reserve basketball team hadwhat Coach Ruth Hidore called a goodseason, ending the year 9-4.The reserves fluctuated considerably during the season, with movement on and offthe varsity and freshman teams. Hidore feltthe success of the reserve team hinged onthe cohesion of the total girls basketballprogram. This made the transition from teamto team smooth. To this end, offensive patterns were kept consistent throughout theprogram.Hidore felt consistency in the reserveteam was supplied by Jetta Fultz, KimMcMillan, Traci McNeely, Jeana Nolan, andConnie Volz. According to the coach,McNeely and Nolan were dependablesparks to the team.Although Volz was also a varsity player,she gave two or more valuable quarters tothe season, Hidore said. The coachnoted that Julie Hunsaker, another vatplayer, added experience to the reseiquite often.The reserve team spent much time 4oping defensive play.Coach Patti McCormicks freshmanended the season 7-1.
