Saturday Night Fever was definitely the best. Iliked the music, but the plot was kind ofdepressing. People are entertained bygoing to see depressing movies sometimes. It is strange, said one student. Anotheradded, I liked the dancing, but I didntreally like the rest of the movie.Other favorites were Star Wars, HeavenCan Wait, Coming Home, Hooper, andGrease. There seemed to be only a few disappointments among 78-79 viewersexpectations. One was the movie Magic, starring Anthony Hopkins. The movie centered around a ventriloquist controlled byhis dummy. I was a little disappointed, one student commented. Before I went, Ihad heard that it was super scary. It justwasnt. I like frightening movies, and it wasa letdown because there was more bloodand violence than fright.Movie viewers are expecting high standards of entertainment next year. I get tiredof the same old stories. I hope they comeout with some good new ones, a Southsenior said.LEFT: The movie Animal House, starringJohn Belushi, proved to be successfulenough to inspire several TV spin-offs.Above is a scene from one of the TVshows, Delta House.RIGHT: Another 1978 movie grossing alarge amount of money was Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.Seniors/Movies 127
