Improvement bring/10-6 recordIt is just a game. You may cry when you lose. Yourparents may wish you had won. Your coach may pushyou to do better next time. Yet, you must alwaysremember it is just a game. Our basketball team was great. We tried hard, reallyhard, to win our games. We never lost the enjoyment, though. We never blamed one another for fumbledballs or missed shots. We were a team. Maybe we werent great, but we were good; maybe we didnt believeone another to be perfect, but we liked one another;and maybe we didn t win every game, but we tried.Jane HenegarYear after year, teams either strengthenor weaken; they improve on past records orlose more games. The Panthers played withoutstarting center Shelly Parker. We had a bigdisappointment when we lost Parker, Tiddcommented. Henegar was an outstanding rebounder and adependable scorer. She gave us a greatleadership, Tidd said. Faris led the teamin rebounding, and her scoring average wasin double figures, the coach noted. JanetSutherlin, a senior guard, contributed a lotto the team this year, Tidd said; and KiahBurkehead also helped the Panthers.^\l*«*.Hi;78 Girls Varsity Basketball |
