Description: >BE DRAMATIC BE EXPRESSIVEThe most important skill I havetaken away from production class thisyear would have to be how to act in thereal world, said junior Jada Buehler. We have learned so much about howto properly represent ourselves inauditions and how to find monologuesthat suit the thing we are auditioningfor and other basic necessities for realworld acting.Theater in the classroom is full ofcreative energy that is transformed intomemorable performances by manystudents within North.Theatre class really teaches youhow to be a better actor, and bettertechie, said Sophomore Ryan Eller, and the class teaches you many skillsfor being in an actual show.on stage\competition\Everything kind of happens all atonce, said Junior Emma Ostlund. It isreally crazy to see how the stage changesthe way you act, because you will get sofully enveloped into the moment thatyou dont even realize it is happeninguntil it is gone.Senior Donovan Seymour agreedand said, When we go into it, as Emmasaid, it just happens. Many peoplewonder about the nervousness before ashow, and I will be first to admit thatyes, that happens, and it will never goaway. But once you get on the stage itsort of disappears within the story youare trying to tell.I had never competed before, said Junior Melody Cobine. I had neverwent to regionals or even state before, soit was a little scary for the first time. The North theatre program wonbest supporting actor, tech and actress atregionals in Brown County with secondplace overall. For state competition atFranklin Central, they received thirdplace and runner-up to showcase theirshow Sylvia at the InternationalThespian Festival.Melody Cobine continuesexplaining her experience saying,Being in a new place and performingwith a tight-knit group of people whoare so supportive of each other, was atruly amazing experience.story and layout by Paige OsborneMost people in theatreare primarily the actorsbefore they do tech, but I dotech before I act. Theatre isultimately different to me,because I build the thingsthey act on and I finish thestory they are trying to tellwith music and scenery. This is also where i havemet all my friends. Theynever know when to stophaving fun.Bella Brown-Sparks, 11As being one of thestudents who have been reallyinvolved throughout this year,I have noticed that there is onething I do not have: Time. Butall jokes aside, creating athespian troupe really meanscreating a family. The mostdifficult part every year ishaving one of them leave us.Elijah Carpenter, 11WHAT DOES THEATREAN TO YOU?Theatre to me is the bestway of expressing myself justbecause I feel like when youare in theatre you can beanyone you want to be, and ascomplicated as you want tobe. A lot of times you donthave to be understood, youjust live that existence ofbeing everything. It is reallyincredible.Emma Ostlund, 11As Steckbeck says allthe time, theatre is life. One main thing I have learnedfrom him, other than thatfamous quote, is that If youwant to pursue theater, thenyou have to dive headfirst init. It takes over most of yourtime, but it ultimately evolvesinto being your home andyour family forever.Donovan Seymour, 12I Tv<> .@
