GIRLS BASKETBAKEEPING THEIR. HEADS in THl 6/UM (<Finals week. For any high school studentyou ask; this is the most challenging, exhausting, and stressful week of thesemester. Most students study forendless hours, trying to do well on atest that often counts for 20 percent ofthe semester grade.Trying to make time to study forall of your finals is tough, but its evenharder when during the week of finalsyou have to practice for a game everynight of the week. Thats the reality ofthe girls basketball team. Even thoughthe dreaded finals week is taking place, the girls are still putting in work for atleast two hours every night afterschool, just to then go home tostudy for hours upon hours andkeep their grades up. This may seemlike an exhausting routine forstudents who dont play a wintersport, but not for the girls on theteam. Its not stressful because its anormal thing for us to have practiceevery night and then go home to dohomework, said sophomore AbbyCannon. It may be a little harder tostudy, but its not a significantamount of change. The varsity team runsup the court, gettingready to steal the ball.Hannah Allen, 11Nina Castro-Sauer, 11Lynn Teter and Bentlei Grooms sprint across the ,court as Ainsley Urbanski dribbles the ball, ready to start a play.Abby Cannon, 10Paige Chitwood, 11 |
