Description: |
The class of 73 is unique, not onlyin being Norths first graduating class, but also in what has and will be accomplished. Seniors converged on North latein August, from various schools in theBloomington area, only to find a worldmore hectic and impersonal than thesheltered underclass years. Yet runningto classes, making new friends, andremembering where lockers werekept those first few days too busyto worry about the past. As fallI rushed by, memories flew with itand seniors turned with new vigortoward the future and the challengeit held. Old school tensions, loyalties and spirit were somehowtransferred to North. Goals, hopes, aspirations and fears in facing a- troubled but promising world whichhe seniors were about to inheritserved as a common meeting ground.Surprising enough, the result was moreto hold the class together than tokeep them apart.Every school year has its specialmoments, times that linger in memorieslong after others have faded far away. The junior-senior powder puff game isone of these moments. For the first time seniors becamea single unit, working together tomake something work out, and fromthen on that same attitude carriedthe seniors through the year, workingtogether. Seniors have completed onephase of a lesson that will last therest of their lives . . . and here havesown the seeds of thought and deedswhich must be left for others toVT.M |
