BECOMING A WRITER^*^_,*»U^k.Ever since she could remember, junior Katy Foster hasalways wanted to pursue a career in writing and editing. Ihave always loved reading, Foster said, I read and write alot in my free time. Although literature has a broadspectrum, Foster has focused her passion on writing. Ienjoy reading books that make me think critically aboutmy world, and I really want to challenge people by makingthem think about their world, life, and ideas as a writer,Foster said. With her combined passion for writing,teachers at North have inspired her to further her career inwriting. Foster also takes writing courses outside of Northin order to better her writing technique and build herliterature skills. Among many of Fosters interests, classicliterature is her favorite, including author Charles Dickensand the novel, Catch 22 by loesph Heller. Despite all herfavorite classics, Fosters favorite quote is from Harper LeesTo Kill a Mockingbird, Until I feared I would lose it, Inever loved to read.
