His mother is from Venezuela and speaksSpanish fluently so this has helped him a lot with takingSpanish. He has heard Spanish his whole entire life, so hesbeen able to learn many phrases and vocabulary wordswhich helps him greatly.Fierst- Garcia has only visited Venezuela once, when hewas very little, so he doesnt remember it very clearly, buthe remembers not being able to drink tap water and that itwas very dirty. The Fierst- Garcia family has a tradition ofcoming together during Christmas with the rest of theirfamily. They make two types of foods that are known aspaella and arepas. Fierst-Garcia says that its a ton offun when his whole family comes together.Fierst-Garcia was nervous when first coming to Northbecause he knew everyone was bigger than him, but headjusted well because of his older brother, and his mother.Fierst-Garcia is involved in soccer at North and he saidthat the upperclassmen on the team really helped him getused to North.
