Manynew friends, different extra-curricular activities,a variety of course selections, and a whole newatmosphere of school life, made their first year atBloomington North full of memorable experiences. After the first couple of weeks, which it took toget accustomed to their new way of life, thefreshmen began to feel more at home. They didnthave to accept being shoved through the hallsbetween classes any longer. No more askingupperclassmen the way to the math departmentand ending up in the vocational department orpool area. It was time to leave those middle andelementary school days behind. They were determined to show those upperclassmen that eventhough they were freshmen, they were here tomake the Class of 80 a name no one would forget.By March the freshman class had not had anyfund-raising projects. A first annual freshmenclass picnic was planned for the spring of 1977.With the lack of funds, money raising projectswere badly needed. Raffles and bake sales werethen discussed by the freshmen officers as ways ofgetting the necessary money for their picnic. Theyhope the picnic will be a big success and wouldlike it to become, a tradition for future freshmanclasses.Overall, the first year of high school for thefreshmen will be a year theyll never forget. Mr.Richard Ritz is the class sponsor.MEN159^■■fig |
