Description: IU or Purdue?Abby Hagen has gotten thebest of both worlds of Indianaand Purdue universities.Nikean: What does your dad coach at IU and what did he coach at PU?Abby: At Purdue, my dad coached the linebackers. Here at IU, he is the defensive tackle coach, the special teamscoordinator, and the recruiting coordinator. When did you and your family move here?We moved here in the middle of June last summer. How long was your family in West Lafayette? My family lived in West Lafayette for 10 years. How was the Bucket Game for you and your family? It was actually really weird. We even caught ourselves accidentally cheering for the wrong team at times. Was it hard switching over to being a Hoosier fan?No, not really. It was actually pretty fun getting to switch over to a school thats totally new and different than Purdue.Did you keep any of your Purdue clothes?Yes, but I never wear them out in public. How was it learning all of the IU cheers, especially because you used to make fun of them at PU?We felt a little foolish (especially doing the zombie one) but it was actually pretty fun.How is the rivalry?Since Im not a Purdue Fan anymore, Im totally loyal to IU. I would love it if we could crush Purdue this year.Which do you like better?IU.Do you ever feel like a traitor?Sometimes I feel bad about us switching sides, but since its my dads job I have to support the team hes coaching. Were your friends angry when you switched alliances? Not really angry, just surprised. They all tease me about being a Hoosier and will say things to me like boiler up.How was it seeing the Old Oaken Bucket in the Indiana Offices when you first got here?It was awesome. I almost felt like we followed the bucket to IU.Are you happy to be a Hoosier now?Yes, being a Hoosier is great. Now I just hope the team has a better season in 2012.IWhat is one thing you cant live wltKOUV.I couldnt live without my close friends andfamily because they help me when I need helpand they care and support me and my decisions.I also cant live without art.
