Vhats the most dffcult part of competing in baseball?Colby: The most difficult part is dealing with your failures cause baseball is a game offailures, and you have to deal with them and move on if you want to be successful.Paul: As Colby was saying, you can make the hall of fame if you fail 7 out of 10 times, andyou bat 300. So to be successful only 3 out of those 10 times, youre considered amazing.Dealing with failure is a big thing. Also, just staying focused for 3 hours in the hot sun. It getspretty hot out there.Tyler: Baseball is a game of failure, like Colby said. The main thing is to focus on maintaining mental toughness.Vhat traditions does the baseball team have?Paul: Usually, our main tradition is winning. We do that a lot. Weve won 4 outof the last 5 sectionals.Tyler: A main tradition that this group has actually started is getting to knowone another better by going out to eat and spending a lot of time together.ujust wanna givething you have. Not have any regrets.Im just hoping tohave a breakoutseason. Its my lastseason and Im notplaying in college.-How do you come with your T-shirt ideas7Paul: Every year, our T-shirt designs are usually pretty famous throughout theschool. Every year, the seniors are responsible for putting together the t-shirt.Past t-shirt slogans have had double meanings. Past slogans have been, hitit hard every time, how deep can you go? got wood? and we swing bigsticks.MhisAason, what Im looking to dois continue the success that baseballhere at north has had for the lastdecade. I just wanna go out thereand do the best I can everyday, anddeal with my failures like a champ.kriors, how do you plan on li/ind up your lost season at north? -How doyou plan on making it special?Paul: I plan on making sure that I have no regrets by the end of the season. Making sure that I leaveit on the line every single game. And make sure that at the end of the season, I can look in the mirrorand say I couldnt have given anything more.Jason: As Paul said, you just wanna give everything you have. Not have any regrets. Im just hopingto have a breakout season. Its my last season and Im not playing in college.Michael: This season, what Im looking to do is continue the success that baseball here at northhas had for the last decade. I just wanna go out there and do the best I can everyday, and deal withmy failures like a champ. You wanna win sectionals in your senior year. I know my sophomore yearon varsity, the hardest thing for me was watching the seniors reactions after the loss to south in thesectionals championship. And I just wanna make sure thats not me or any of my other fellow seniors.Tyler: This season Im just trying to have little regret and continue the success weve had over theyears. As seniors, were supposed to lead the team and thats what were gonnna try to do.MKing I think a lot ofpnpie dont realize is howsuccessful weve actually been.Out of the last 17 or 18 sectionals, weve won somewherearound I believe 13 or 14 ofthose, and I think credit shouldbe given where credit is due.Vhat is something peopk dont know about the baseball team?Paul: Something people dont know about our team is something people dont know about our sport, and thats just how hardit is. I think its the hardest thing in sports to hit a round ball with a round bat. Especially when you have no idea how fast itscoming or what angle its coming. They might throw a fastball, they might throw a curve ball, and they might throw a changeball. I think nobody really understands just how difficult it is.Jason: Outside of baseball, we rarely hang out with anyone else other than our team. Its not like we dont include otherpeople, its just we like to have good chemistry.Michael: I ttjflkjflffliithinn mncl-Ip \A/Ant Ictiaia/ .aHAiit thic fp^im nur tp_.amthiyiJiJiJbatwe,is that were: gonna rely on somed not all of them had starting spotsunderclassmen to step up sometime during the season. Because we have 6 seniors, and not all of them had starting spotlast year. So not only are we gonna rely on them to step up and have a great senior season, but were gonna rely on someunderclassmen to step up big and help us out this year.Colby: I think something people dont know about us is that come game time, were not all fun and games. And we get seriousand get down to business.Tyler: One thing I think a lot of people dont realize is how successful weve actually been. Out of the last 17 or 18 sectionals, weve won somewhere around I believe 13 or 14 of those, and I think credit should be given where credit is due. |
