With black costumes, numchucks, shurikens and a round house kick to top it offninjas go in with a classy entrance for a sneak attack. Mostschools dont have ninjas of their own, but in special circumstances, ninjas are needed. Coincidently, Japanese Club had its15wn need for ninjas. The ninjas mission was to deliver ninjagrams to students. They were a fun way to send a new years or Christmasgreetings to a friend, senior Dane Lebeau said. Some kidsused them to send messages and some used them to justdisrupt class. The ninjas may have left out the num chucks and roundhouse kicks, but even without them, they still were able tocontinue on with their idea. Were planning a trip to Japan and were doing fundraisers, senior Bethany Manning said. We wanted to do it the funniest, pretty much the stupidest, way we could think of.As far as the administration knows, ninja grams were theause of the first sightings of ninjas in the school. Althoughstudents knew they were sending ninja grams to their fellowpeers, many students and teachers were considerably surprisedwhen they were finally delivered.J sophomore AndrewMaben said. I hope that theyll continue doing it because itwas funnyNot only was the experience fun for the students, but theninjas had fun while on the job as well.Running around the hallways with socks on was reallyfun, junior Addie Camp said. We fell a lot, I ran into a wall, acouple of other people did too so that was great. With Japanese Clubs structured plarming they found that theninja grams were a large success. We ended up getting over a hundred dollars in profits fromthem, so we were really happy, Manning said. We were allpretty surprised that we made so much from it and we hope todo it again.Story by Catherine Kagemann000
