Description: 1 During the basketball game against Bedford, junior Hogan Stangertries to steal the ball away from his opponent. His favorite moment ofthe season was witnessing junior Julian Boatner hit the game-winningshot for the Cougars against sectional foe Columbus East.2 Following the swimming tradition, senior Patrick Garner gets hishair bleached in preparation for the sectional meet. I was reallyenthusiastic to get my hair bleached because it marks the end of the(regular) season and sectionals, Garner said.o Sophomore Zibba Huck dribbles the ball in the game against PerryMeridian. I practice dribbling and passing more than anything because it helps me be the best point guard I can be, Huck said.Junior Elizabeth Frederick and freshman Kate Emery performtheir hip-hop competition routine during halftime at the basketball game against Edgewood. Both girls said they wereenthusiastic about getting to compete in the National competition. We just wanted to get a title, Emery said. The team didjust that, placing sixth overall.Junior Shawn Miracle competes against a Pike wrestler. Miracle prefers all-daytournaments to dual matches because he does not like to lose the weight to meet hisweight class for only one match. Miracle had to lose an average of eight poundsper week to stay in the 1 1 2 lbs. weight class. This was Miracles 1 1th year par-ticipating in the sport. During the off season, he wrestles for the Cougar WrestlingClub and Hoosier Elite Wrestling Academy to give him extra mat time.During the invitational at South, freshman Ashley Chitwood catches her balancewhile performing on the beam. To stay enthusiastic during meets, Chitwood thinksof the things she does well in meets to counteract any negative vibes she mayfeel. My teammates also help me a lot. They cheer for me when I compete, whichhelps me stay positive, Chitwood said.
