Whether they started acting prior to their freshmen year or were brandnew for that first fall play in 2005, each one has almost the exact same responsewhen asked if they have improved: Definitely.Their freshman year, Francesco Sobrer didnt have much hope for the future of thetheatre program. That completely changed due to the development of their skills. We have some people who are going to be good, Sobrer said.Seniors Sarah Van Tassel, Miranda Gregory, and Ethan Sallee are among thepeople that Sobrer is referring. Van Tassel and Gregory have been participating in the theatre program since their freshman year while Salleestarted his sophomore year.My first year, I had no idea what I was doing, Sallee said. Ijust did what came naturally.Similarly, Gregory shares that her focus point was to say theline really loud so that everyone can hear.Three years has changed that as they progressedas actors through the theatre program.Ive made serious improvement in my fouryears at North alone, Van Tassel said.Although they are leaving high school behindnext year, these theatre students dont see themselves giving up acting.I know that theatre will remain an importantpart of my life, even if I only do it on the side,Van Tassel said.Sallee said acting will play a much larger rolein his post-high school career. This is what I want to do, Sallee said. This iswhat Im passionate about.by AileenDriscollAt the Farmers Market, senior Emily McConnell, junior Sam Paul andsenior Kate Anderson perform theirliving statue.
