Description: Each day as we roam the halls of North, we aresurrounded with 1,782 other students and facultymembers who all have unique experiences toshare. One of these people, freshman Ethan Deckard, poses with part of his trophy collection hereceived for winning go-kart races, (far left) Working with his father, Deckard builds his cars fromthe ground up to get ready for each race the nextweekend. Another student with an interestingstory is senior Zoe Kromm, who stands looking ata picture of her mother whom she lost as a child,(top left) Within two years, Kromm also lost hergrandfather and father to disease, becoming orphaned at the age of eight. In contrast, sophomoreNicole Macy holds her baby that she welcomedinto the world at the age of 16. (bottom left) Still,Macy is able to balance attending school and raising a child with help from the babys father, Randy Harrison. Many people around us have conquered obstacles from the past and pressed on torise above them. As we hear their stories, we canlearn things that may change our lives as well.Written by: Lauren DeckardProfiles |5
