Description: bys BackSenior returns after back injurySenior Darby Hannon came back for the soccer season after suffering two herniated discs in her spinal column theprevious season.The injury was caused from over training, Hannon said. I was doing way too much at too high of an intensity.Hannon has been playing varsity since her freshman year. Her sophomore year she scored 16 goals, holding the recordfor scoring the most goals in a single season for North. However, Hannon wasnt sure if she was going to come back to theteam for her senior year. She didnt think she was going to be ready for the season.At first she didnt think she was going to play but with some senior help we got her back on the team, senior LeeannaCraig said.Hannon said she still has a tough time competing because of her back. She finds herself on occasion not being able toplay to her full potential.Craig said Hannon was a big addition to the team becuase of her scoring ability and soccer skills.Hannon played over the summer on her Dynamo team, centered out of Indianapolis. Hannons summer team finished inthe top 16 in the country.After coming back to the team, she ended up leading the team in goals and being a great senior leader.The girls ended wtih an overall record of 6-10-2 and a 1-4-2 record in Conference Indiana. The Cougars will lose threevarsity starting seniors: Hannon, Craig and Shagoofa Zamani.Hannon will be attending Indiana University or Boston University for her college soccer experience.
