The girls wereranked No. 1 in class 4A when the season started.Senior Kiley Jarrett said that didnt put a lot ofpressure on the team.We still had to play, Jarrett said.Head coach Steve Goddard considersJarrett a team leader. When I think of team leaders I think ofpeople who lead in practice, in games and also offthe court. I would go to battel with Jarrett on myteam anytime, he said.Jarrett will be playing basketball for BallState next year. But the disappointment set in whensenior Whitney Thomas tore her ACL, taking herout for the season.Considering the whole team had beenplaying together since we were 9, it was hard toplay without them, especially in a year we weregoing to state, Thomas said.Even though Thomas had injuries, sheisnt going to quit the sport altogether.
