Description:	CheerleadingAccording to Coach Shannon Ritz the 2003-2004 cheerleading squads was one of the most talented groups that Bloomington North has ever seen. Early practices and/or late practices all summerhelped the squad develop into a strong unit. The girls worked very had and dedicated a great deal oftheir time and effort to making sure this was a year to remember for all of them.To begin their preparation for the school year, the girls from all of the squads attended UCA Elitecamp at Indiana University. They represented their school trememdously well as both the Junior Varsityand Varsity squads took first place for their routines, as well as numerous other awards. This was quitean accomplishment, and a good indicator of what the year would become.Following camp, the girls continued to practice to prepare for the football season. The conditioning and practice for the cheerleaders was as hard as that of many other sports. In order to perform atthe highest level it is necessary for each member of the squad to be in good physical condition. A levelof excellence has always been expected, and this years squad sought to continue that tradition.A major emphasis for the squads was to focus on crowd involvement. Getting everyone on theirfeet and involved in the athletic events takes more than being able to tumble across the court. Theenergy and enthusiasm that the cheerleading squads bring to athletic events helped keep everyoneinvolved.A huge thank you is extended to all who helped with the program. The cheer season runsalmost a full year and it takes a large number of people to pull it all together and make it successfu.
