Picture donated by The Herald-Times.Bloomington Norths girls tennis team had a remarkable season this year.Many of the girls had worked all four years at North looking forward to theseason when it would come together. This was the year.The teams captain, senior SarikaAgarwal, lead the team in wins with a 19and 1 record at number two singles. Number one singles was filled bysophmore Shama Mehta, with Katie Notter in third singles. However, it wasthe doubles players that really pulled the team through. Senior Josie Larimerand sophmore Kate DeWeese made up one of the best number one doublesteams the Cougars have seen. They were able to beat Center Grove andColumbus North, two teams never conquered by Bloomington North.The girls had an overall season record of 16-4. In conference the teamfinished 5th, but the big celebration came at sectionals. North won againstSouth in the finals 3-2, a feat never witnessed by this years seniors. Atregionals, the team lost in a close match to 5th ranked Center Grove, 2-3.We had a great season.
