You bond new friendships and become stronger mentally and physically.-Sierra StridelGymnastics Team HasOutstanding SeasonAlthough North missed going to Regionals by .25 points finishingright under South at Sectionals on March 3, they still had their best seasonever with a record of 35:10:1.Beating South during the season 4 times helped contribute to Northsgreat record. Beating South at all was an accomplishment for the gymnaststhis year because South has beat North for the last 6 years.Winning Sectionals was Columbus East with 108.6, followed byColumbus North with 106.5 and then South with a score of 101.1. Advancingto Regionals individually were senior Leah French placing fourth on vaultwith 9.1 and sophomore Lindsey Shockley on the bars with 8.8.Senior night, on February 22, the team reconized their lone senior,Leah French, and all the hard work she has done for the past 4 years. Frenchhad a great night scoring a 34.89 in the all-around, which was her highest ofthe season. Her score helped the team beat Seymour and score their seasonhigh of 100.85 which was just .25 points away from beating the schoolrecord.I have had the best year ever and I am glad that I have this experienceto take with me, said French, I will miss everyone so much!Alice Cheng practices her scale on beam before the bigmeet against South.
