Were Dancing in the StreetsThe 1996 Junior and Senior Prom theme was Dancingin the Streets. The prom washeld at the Convention Centeron May 18th, and was definitelya night to remember.The Prom Committee dida great job of transforming theConvention Center into a bigstreet dance, complete with illuminated buildings, statuesquetrees, and a highway runningthe length of the ConventionCenter floor. A DJ played avariety of music ranging fromcountry to techno, so everyonegot a chance to hear what theywanted to hear. Near the end ofthe evening, JuniorsMuhammad Rafiuddin andLeah Horn were crowned PromKing and Queen. The prom wastopped off with glowsticks thatwere given to all prom attendees. The glowsticks were sucha hit that while couples hit thedance floor, some people felt itnecessary to snatch theglowsticks left lying on thetables.The post-prom theme wasDisco Fever, and was held atthe school. The post-prom wasa perfect place to wind downafter an evening of big fun. Thegraduating seniors owe all oftheir prom memories to thehardworking students, teachers, and parents that made theprom the success it was.Muhhammad Raffiuddin and LeahHorn are all smiles after beingcrowned Prom King and Queen.Senior Jodee Stines and her dateseem to be headed in the rightdirection.These prom-goers illustrate what itmeans to be dancing in thestreet.182 COUGAR TAL06 |
