Description:	Lady Cougars Back to Back ChampsMother nature seemed tofollow the Ladies Trackteam where ever they went.Not only did she provideplenty of rain but also managed to keep the sun away formore than one occasion. TheCougars still managed todominate, despite theweather. The team only lostone dual meet the whole season. They ended the seasonwith a blast when they became back to back Sectionaland Regional Champions.The team has been knownfor its depth and this yearwas no different. SeniorsNyagon Duany and DarciaCarter topped off their yearsat North by returning toState, each in three events.Both are a member of the400x1 relay with MeganMauro and Shannon Smith,who broke the schoolrecord. Carter and Duanyalso won the Gold awardsfor the team. Mauro stunnedher way to winning the StateSeries Award with her outstanding performance inlong jump. Smith also qualified in her first year of trackfor State (100m and 200m).Continuing withgreat performances were thedistance runners. AlyssaPittman (1600m run)andCourtney Daughtery (800mrun) qualified for state.Throwers Sharicia Taylorand Stephanie Nichols bothmoved up in discus, but unfortunately competed withsome strong competition andwere not far from State qualifying. Taylor was also amember of the 400x4 relayconsisting of Allison Ragon,Amanda Hamilton, and LauraMcDonald, who missed goingto State by one place. Therelay team did end with astrong season beating Southsteam during the North vs.South meet.The Seniors will be greatlymissed.
