Description: Strings Sound SweetThe Bloomington NorthOrchestra had a year filledwith a variety of quality performances, including the Fallconcert, the Night of Dance,the String Spectacular, andthe Gala Festival with theBloomington Symphony Orchestra. The group earnedstraight superior ratings forall solos and ensembles at theISSMA State Solo and Ensemble Contest, and concertmistress SaraCaswell and violinist Kit Boulding were selected to the Indiana All-StateHonors Orchestra.Somebody doesnt look veryhappy to be making music today.The orchestras performances at community functions, such as the 4th StreetFestival of Arts and Crafts, theFestival of Trees, the Mu PhiEpsilon Music Sorority meeting, and the Lotus Festival,were well-received and much;appreciated by the people of jMonroe County.In her last year at North,senior Sara Caswell received |several well-deserved honors,including being one of ten|people from the entire countryto be selected as an AmericanString Teachers Association!solo finalist, as well as Downbeat magazines performer of |the year.Orchestra-ln Alphabetical Order-J.
