The team ended upwith a 16-4 record headinginto sectionals, with many impressive wins such as the double overtime win against thecross town rivals, the SouthPanthers, and also with a gutsy performance at JenningsCounty where the boys cameback from a 13 point deficit inthe third quarter to win thegame 65-59.This years team was led bySenior Duany Duany who became the all-time leading scorer for Monroe County scoringover 1500 points during his career here at North HighSchool. This year Duany alsodecided that he was going tocontinue his education andbasketball career at WisconsinUniversity.The five seniors on thisyears team will be missedgreatly. Duany Duany, JoshMcAfee, Jake Fulcher, NateShaw, and Pete Norris have allcontributed strongly to thewinning success of North basketball.The Cougar team drew theBrown County Eagles for theirfirst game of sectionals andbeat them 56-50, which putthem in the final game wherethey lost to the unbeaten Bedford North Lawrence Stars.The J.V. team also had anoutstanding season. With fewsubs on the bench, the teamended up with a 20-0 record.This makes the future look extremely bright for the upcoming Bloomington North Basketball Season.Senior Duany Duany jumpsover his defense to score.<S>While flying through the air, senior Josh McAfee lets off a shot.Reflections OfJumping high, senior Nate Shawlays it in for another point.
