The teamrecord was 20-7, winningthe Sectional for the thirdconsecutive year, the regional for the second timein three years, and winningCougan, Got& Make, North Hutong&the first game at the Semi-State in North softball history.In general, the playersput the team ahead of individual goals, but some ofthe players had outstandingaccomplishments during the1993 season. Julie Reedwas selected as 2nd teamAll-State as a sophomore.She led the team inhomeruns (6), slugging percentage (.776), RBIs (40)and was the teams powerpitcher with a record of 13-4 with an ERA of 2.44.Kristin Lill threw the no-hitter against South andhad a record of 6-3 with anERA of 3.82. Kathie McClaren was selected honorable mention All-State andanchored a solid defensewith only 3 errors in 201chances at 1st base. LeslieBaldwin led the team in hitting with a batting averageof .427 and an on base average of .557. Eight players: Leslie Baldwin —.427, Julie Reed — .400,Kathie McClaren — .395,Amber Rowley — .370,Kristin Lill — .339, AmyNewsom — .311, MissyHanson — .302, and BetsyKelley — .302, hit over.300 for the season.The 1993 season wascertainly a success, but nowit is up to the 1994 team tocontinue the upward climbtoward a championship andrespectability.
