Thisprogram was instituted forthe first time during the1985-86 school year.The peer tutor coursehas a variety of components. It includes articles toread and review, a four-page mid-term exam, lessons to prepare, and ecological inventory to develop. Through the readings,»Kari Dawes sticks her tongueout to amuse Amy Langley andAndy Upper.D. J. Altop takes a break fromhis computer work.of special education. Thesereadings include a wide variety of topics.The bonus to the peertutor program is the increased integration and interaction of the studentswith substantial handicapsinto the regular studentbody. Students in the special education classes haveformed acquaintances withtheir typical peers.
