This committeeallowed a number of chosen teachers to evaluatethe textbooks before beingdistributed to the students.They then decided whetherthe textbooks were suitablefor student learning.The science departmentis also looking into a newteaching structure that willfit into the curriculum. Thiswont be decided until nextyear.Last, but not least, during Winter Intensive Term,students that were interested in the sciences had thechance to go on a field tripto the Florida Keys. Twenty-three students went toBig Pine Key for ten glorious days in the sun. Theydid experiments, such ascleaning the beaches andweighing the trash.
