~TjImprovements In MathiT his year the Math De-partment had twonew additions: Mrs.Paige Callahan the newGeometry and Algebrateacher and Mr. KevinRaney who taught pre-Algebra. They are takingthe place of Mr. Bill Froh-liger who retired lastyear.In addition to the newteachers, the studentswere given new textbooks to use. Thesetextbooks are more up todate and explain problems and examples inmore detail than the oldtextbooks.Another new conceptin the Math DepartmentMath teacher, Brent Chitty islecturing as usual.The attention of Jeff Smithand Michelle Poteat is keptby Geometry teacher, ScottWest during homework explanations.__-_^is the team-teaching approach. Teachers AndyStrawn and Greg Philippsen team-taught Mathone-two and Pre-Algebrathis year. They found itvery beneficial for thestudents to have twoteachers instead of theusual one. It gave moreone on one help to students who needed it.This is a key to running asuccessful Math program and also a successful department.What a stressed face TimHerbin has, while WhitneyYork blows off steam to relieve stress.In Every Direction |
