Besides the requiredU.S. History and the Government classes, SocialStudies also offers Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology,Current Issues and Events,and Modern World Civilization. As you can see,there are a variety ofcourses to choose from.The Social Studiesteachers have been working very hard to revise thecurriculum and providehigh interest courses thatwill appeal to all of the students. They are also preparing for new textbookswhich will take place nextyear.Dr. Miller is in charge ofClose-up this year. Close-up is an organization thatlets students have the opportunity to see Washington. The students whochoose to go will get tomeet and talk with peoplein our government whomake important decisionseveryday. Some will evenget to speak with theirstate senators. They willsee the judicial branch andmay get to attend a meeting with the President ofthe United States!
