-Cougars Mature, 11-7George Fieldings Boys Golf team,now in its 21st season, had a successfulyear. The Cougars ended the seasonwith an impressive 11-7 record, thebest record since the early 80s.With seniors Ben Finley, and JohnLynas, the Cougars showed strong leadership. Supported by Steve Frick, EricWisely, and freshman Brad Streza, theCougars used their experience andteam work to win some key matches.The highlight of the season came whenthe Cougars stopped ColumbusNorths 51 dual meet winning streakwith a 160-165 win. The team wascommended by 97WB for this accomplishment with a team nomination forthe Athlete of the Week Award. TheCougars were disappointed with their4th place team finish in Sectionals, butthe MVP winner Ben Finley advancedto the state meet after firing a 77 at theRegional meet.NorthOpp.330Bl.
