Description: s!The Cougar football team, underCoach Dick Ranard, finished out with afair season. The 87 Cougars played apretty tough schedule throughout theseason, but that wasnt the problem.The Cougars played top ranked teamssuch as Martinsville, then sixth in thestate, and beat them pretty respectably.Then in sectionals the Cougars playedColumbus East, then eighth in the state.The Cougars easily beat them 38-19,while playing nearly flawless football.The football Cougars had one problem during the course of the season,mistakes. The guys just seemed to winthe tough games and lose the easy ones.The only team that gave the Cougars arun up, was the Bloomington South Panthers.
