Theend of the year seems far away, just as the doors of theschool are from the parking lot. But is it really that faroff?Soon the powder puff battle with a skin of the teeth victory for the seniors will become a memory.Remember football? The season record wasnt top-notch, but the good times were! November brought recognition of our track team as State Champs and election day1980. Government classes were busy DISCUSSING political views pertaining to the candidates, Jimmy Carter andRonald Reagan. To finish off the month, the marchingband placed 2nd at ISMA.The next thing you knew you were blowing-off examsduring one hectic week before Christmas to tie ribbons,attend parties and catch up on long forgotten sleep.Christmas flew by and you found yourself back in thesame routine, just waiting for spring break!January brought a new president, Ronald Reagan, tooffice, the return of the hostages, and a lot of hope andpromises of shaping up our economy. Students occupiedtheir time by showing support for Mr. Lords 1981 Sectional Championship Basketball team.Remember the food fight? With the spring semestersenior pranks arise, as there are still SOME seniors attending school. However, as the temperatures soar into the fifties and sixties many become sporadically ill.As seniors take off for Florida, the underclassmen mustbe content with the forty-five degrees, rainy back porchand Sudden Tan.Upon returning to school, underclassmen resign themselves to the pressures of raising grades and SAT scores.Seniors begin flapping their wings preparing for their firstyear of freedom.As you step out on the dance floor in your tux or formalyou begin to realize that the year is almost at its end.When the baseball team plays its final game without beingrained out, you know its over.Looking back on the year you now see that the enjoyment of time and success begins with an attitude and thewillingness to take that first step.211*__
