Description: VOCATIONALArea Vocational school helps prepare studentsfor the area of work. Through experience in theclassroom it helps them develop skills for thefuture. This applies to all the skill areas. Students are trained on the job. Although bothNorth and South are part of the Monroe CountyVocational school, many of its classes and activities are held in Norths Vocational wing. TheMCAVS offers courses at South, including Electronics, Co-op office education, forestry, growthkeeping and horticulture, in which North students may enroll.A well known club to Vocational students isthe Vocational Industrial Clubs of America(VICA). The VICA Club unites all vocationalstudents in America. This club is bigger thanFuture Farmers of America, and Office Education Association. Last year in the VICA Club,during competition, for the first time Northbrought back two gold medals. The medals werereceived in commerical foods and refrigeration,and cosmetology received a silver medal.1. These boys examine the wood for termites.2. Tracy Cooksey does some body work.3. Paul Crawford buzzes around.4. Scott Butcher says, Are you sure it fell in there?5. It is always nice to know what youre doing in case yourDiehard dies.6. Tim McCammon says, Take me to your leader.75
