You Guys! Carol Repasky organizes senior puffers.3. Crazy cars and senior stars. The day started out with breakfast: the seniorswent to Big Wheel, the juniors to Bonanza. Then everyone loaded into cars and headed forWTTS. Unfortunately, on the way, junior KimHuddleson and senior Toby Waldmans collided. No one was hurt, but it certainly put a damperon their fun for the day.At the radio station, each team had a spot forpromotional purposes. Juniors chanted and theseniors retorted with a loud verse of We AreThe Champions, My Friend. At 7:30 that night the game was under way.On the first senior possession, running backCarol Repasky made a spectacular 47 yard run for6 points. The score at the end of the half wasseniors 6, juniors 0. It looked bad for the juniors, but they wouldnt give up; they were on the ballthe second half. Kathy Smith scored for the juniors and by the end of regulation time, the scorewas 6 to 6. That threw the game into suddendeath overtime. Third down and 23 yards to goal, the juniors threw for the long pass. QuarterbackKari Pace and Kathy Smith connected to placethe juniors ahead 12 to 6. Now the seniors hadtheir chance to come back or lose in just fourshort downs. Three downs went by, and no gainfor the seniors. It looked as if the juniors weregoing to win for only the second time in the history of North. But Toby Waldman, runningback for the seniors, broke through the juniordefense on the fourth down to tie the score 12 to12. Shouting followed about whether to continuethe contest with another overtime. The refs saidit was getting too late, but the students wouldsettle for nothing less than a fight to the death. The juniors got their chance first again, but fumbled on the fourth down, and the seniors tookover. The game was all over as senior runningback Catlin Barnes, ran the ball in to the end-zone for a final score of 18 to 12, seniors on top.Referee Elliot Koyanagi remarked, This wasthe most exciting Powder Puff game ever playedat North. I have been a ref every year, and I wantto congratulate both teams for the best all-roundperformance ever!15
