Description: On three exciting nights, three girls anda young man became the 1968 Royalty ofBloomington High School.Prom King and Queen, Jerry Black and LynnRockwood, reigned over The ImpossibleDream, The 1967 Junior-Senior Prom. Underthe mirrored ball which threw light to all partsof the room, the fountain, surrounded byflowers, changed colors incessantly. The nightwas clear for couples who wandered out tothe solariums sun deck and later returned tothe all-night post-prom party.Senior Shelley Schaap and the rest of thecandidates encircled the football field in convertibles before Shelley was crowned the 1968Homecoming Queen, amid a heart formed bythe Pompettes and the band. After being introduced during half-time of the BSHS-Bloom-field game, Pat Greenwell was crowned Basketball Queen at the last after-game dance ofthe season.Students who competed for Prom King andQueen were Pat Greenwell, Lynn Rockwood,Debby Hedrick, Marilyn Shaw, Corry Rieger,Ken Wright, Rusty Richardson, Jerry Black, SamRees, and J. W. Huff. Members of Shelleyscourt included Patricia Haeberle, Becky Stapp,Sally Sibbitt, Becky Young, and Pam Lawrence.Pats court consisted of Louise Few, BeckyStapp, Susie Hetherington, and Mary AnnMatthews,SMILING AND HAPPY, Basketball Queen Pat Greenwell receives a bouquet of roses from Mr. Jones.Students ElectKing and QueensCONGRATULATING HOMECOMING QUEEN SHELLEYSCHAAP, Mr. Jones presents to her the traditional football necklace.IN HER WORK SHIRT from Miami Beach Jail, BelindaMoore tacks yellow flowers to trees for the prom.17
